Where We Started

The idea of local physiotherapy was born from wanting to provide an outstanding physiotherapy service and also collaborate with other local wellness providers.

After over a decade in the physiotherapy business, we’ve realized the importance of focusing on doing one thing well. Our clinic focuses solely on physiotherapy and outsources all other services. Our idea is to help other local businesses thrive by referring our patients for other health needs. We work with local wellness providers to optimize our patient care.

Why We’re Here

Every great borough has their “local” - local coffee shop, local grocer, local pub, local gym, local yoga studio, etc. Places that are unique to the neighbourhood, supported by the community, favoured by it’s inhabitants. The Local Physio vision has always been to have physiotherapy experts right around the corner from home — to be among the most essential of local businesses that keeps communities healthy and active.

Where We’re Headed

We are looking toward a new economy, one that is even more supportive and community-centred than before. We see health as wealth and have a vision to have local physio hubs in every neighbourhood in the city owned by people invested in the health of our communities. We believe that authentic relationships are what keep communities vibrant and strong, and we love connecting with other local businesses to create and maintain a culture of wellness, reciprocity, and shared abundance.

Meet the Team

  • Zlatko Alimpic

    Physiotherapist, DPT, PT

I've been a Physiotherapist since 2010, and from the moment I stepped into this profession, I knew I had found my calling—helping people move better, feel stronger, and live pain-free.

After earning my Doctorate in Physiotherapy in New York, I had the incredible opportunity to work at some of the top orthopaedic facilities across the U.S. and Canada, treating a diverse range of patients—from athletes to post-surgical patients and everything in between.

📍 Huntsville, Alabama – At The Orthopaedic Centre, I worked closely with elite orthopaedic surgeons, designing and implementing pre- and post-operative rehab plans with a focus on spinal and peripheral joint therapy.

📍 Boerne, Texas – As Lead Physiotherapist at the Boerne Physiotherapy Institute, I not only treated patients but also played a key role in mentoring physiotherapy students, shaping the next generation of therapists.

Returning home to Toronto was always part of the plan. After working in several private clinics, I decided to bring my vision to life—a space where top-tier physiotherapy meets a personalized, patient-centered approach.

When I'm not in the clinic, you can find me staying active and enjoying life with family and friends. Whether it’s basketball, running, cycling, weightlifting, tennis, or swimming—movement has always been a huge part of who I am, and I love bringing that same passion to my patients.

  • Chalotte Savela

    Physiotherapist, PT

I’m a passionate Registered Physiotherapist with a deep love for movement, rehabilitation, and helping people get back to doing what they love. My journey in this field has been fueled by a lifelong commitment to learning, growth, and hands-on experience.

I earned my Honours Degree in Physical Education from Laurentian University, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy from McMaster University.

Before becoming a physiotherapist, I trained in Athletic Therapy at Lake Superior State University, where I was honored as Athletic Therapist of the Year while serving as Head Student Trainer for the NCAA Division 1 Hockey Championships—an experience that solidified my passion for injury prevention and rehabilitation.

Beyond physiotherapy, I’m also a certified group fitness and cycling instructor, bringing a dynamic, movement-based approach to my treatment plans. Over the years, I’ve worked with patients of all ages and abilities, tailoring evidence-based, integrated treatments to help them regain strength, mobility, and confidence.

I’m always striving to stay ahead in my field, continuously expanding my skills through advanced manual therapy training, Myofascial Decompression (MFD), Stott Pilates Rehabilitation, Dynamic Taping, Active Release Training, and Functional Movement Certifications. My goal is to combine the latest research with personalized care to provide the most effective treatment possible.

Education is a huge part of my practice—I believe that when patients understand their bodies and their injuries, they can take a more active role in their recovery. Whether it's returning to sports, recovering from surgery, or simply moving pain-free, I’m here to guide and support you every step of the way.
